Powers
Powers are strange abilities, either supernatural or
trained, that do not fit in elsewhere in the system. They
allow access to unique abilities that are not covered by
Skills, and can do nearly anything.
Powers cost XP depending the power, general in
factors of five. Some powers come in multiple levels,
with improving abilities in each one. Some powers
cost MP or HP to use, as well.
Example Powers:
Quadrastrike
Cost: 20
When you have been hit by foes 6 times in combat
(whether damaged or not) you may unleash a
devastating series of four attacks as your next action.
You may "save" hits between combat, and you may
remain "charged up" for as long as you wish, although
you will not accumulate hits for your next strike until
your release the attack.
Death Trance
Cost: 10
You may enter a hibernative state where you appear
dead to all observers. For five additional points, your
need for food and drink is drastically decreases. For
ten additional points, it vanishes entirely. For five
points, you remain aware when in this state.
Mage Sight
Cost: 10
You can see the presence and flow of magic, allowing
you to determine the type of spells in an area. For five
additional points, you can tell the type of magic (red,
white, black or other). For ten additional points, you can
detect the specific spells that were used.
Fly
Cost: 15
You may fly. More points mean more carrying capacity
and maneuverability.
Cover
Cost: 1-25
You may attempt to block one physical attack per
round. Your chance to do this is a percentage equal to
twice the number of points you have spent on this
power.
