Shark and Seal

A shark was swimming along one day,
the sea was cold, the sky was grey.
He thought: I haven't had a bite
of anything good to eat tonight!
I had a rubber tire from a sports car,
but that won't get me very far,
rubber is not very nutritious,
not to mention not delicious.
Yesterday I had some cigar stubs,
brown and nasty little nubs.
I opted not to swallow, and spit them out,
Good thing, because without a doubt,
I'd have died of poisoning from nicotine,
a racing heart and a ruptured spleen.
But what is this that looms ahead?
Is it a carcass, newly dead?
Why yes, it is finest harbor seal,
Oh what a lovely fulfilling meal!
Our friend the shark then took a bite,
and his face was filled with delight.
This seal had been eating garlic fish,
so it is a well seasoned dish,
with fresh sea grass and crisp green kelp,
And I can eat it all, without any help.
I am annoyed by feeding frenzies, always a rush,
eat as fast as you can without getting crushed.
But this, this can be eaten without being rough,
And he laughed, and is salted just enough.
He finished his meal, and swam slowly away,
in an ice cold sea under skies of grey.
