To help you feel the ingredients, we're going to take you through our
"One Last Time" tour as it occurred. And it began, of course,
near the door. At the watermelon bin. The watermelons and berries were
always the gateway to the fruit section, and it would have been heresy
to start our shopping experience anywhere other than the fruit section.
To be quite honest, I don't think we ever bought a single watermelon from
Stop and Shop. But we're sure they were quite good, and they were always
right there at the door, waiting to greet us. I can still see them calling
us into the fruit area, saying "I'm big and green and juicy and you want
to buy some fruit." Yet they said it without saying a word.
Incidentally, you may have noticed that it is not Dan and Neel appearing
in the picture above. Although we feel that grocery shopping is primarily
a masculine event used to demonstrate how efficiently one can purchase
large quantities of food, we allow women to show with us because we think
it's good if a girl is willing to go shopping with you.
