The Cobbler's Musical Bio in a Pleasant Tabular Format

Rewind is a Seattle-area 80's cover band with whom I'm playing guitar. All the classic synth-pop you remember. Hungry Like the Wolf? We are, at a club near you.
Mike McAlpine and I comprise The Red Cats, an up-and-coming musical project formed from 50% of the ashes of Stinter. Join us on our journey of feline musical discovery.
I played bass with Careless Hearts (vintage Americana/rock) from 2005-2006, and on CH's self-titled debut album. Also sang a little backup and wrote one of the album tracks.
I played bass with The Sound Effect (pop covers, parties, weddings, etc.) from 2005-2006. Also sang a little backup, and some lead on songs the singer hated.
I played in an acoustic duo at Stanford from 2005-2006; as you can see we never got far enough to have a logo or a name. We did, however, rock Stanford with acoustic classics like “War Pigs” and “Larger Than Life”.
I played bass for The Greg Dunkailo Band (alternative pop) for a few shows in 2004.
I sang baritone/tenor/percussion for the Stanford Harmonics from 2000-2001, and on their 2001 album Phonoshop.
I played guitar for Stinter in high school (~1995). Stinter was - and remains - the legitimate worst band on the Internet.

Unfinished Bits

Folks who aren't quite songwriters but aren't quite not songwriters often accumulate piles of scraps that never see the world. In the promised World Without Walls (someone must have a tm on that, right?), one wants to believe you could post scraps and get great ideas from other folks out there to help you finish songs. So... here's where I'll put scraps. If you like it, do whatever you want with it. Steal it and use it in a Gatorade commercial. Steal it and use it in a "the worst crap you can make with a home computer" tutorial on Youtube. Send me thoughts if you like. Tell me about your pile of unfinished scraps and maybe I'll steal yours and either provide constructive feedback or use them in a Gatorade commercial.

  • California Time... literally, the drums cut out halfway in, but give some idea of what I was thinking. I also wrote this on piano and go back and forth on whether it should be piano or guitar. Hmmmm.
